Bev Meslo

Beverley "Bev" Meslo is a Canadian democratic socialist, a New Democratic Party (NDP) member, and a political activist[1] based in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, Canada.[2]

Meslo ran in the 2004 and 2006 federal elections as the NDP candidate in Vancouver South riding. Both times, she was unsuccessful in running against Liberal Party of Canada candidate Ujjal Dosanjh. Dosanjh was the former leader of the New Democratic Party of British Columbia and briefly Premier of British Columbia before his and the BC NDP's election loss in 2001. In 2004, Meslo placed third with 24% of the vote.

She was also a candidate in the 2003 NDP leadership election representing the party's Socialist Caucus but won only 1.1% of the vote.
